SOLD - Black Train Millipede

Size: This species is one of the largest you will ever see, reaching 23-35cm in lenth!

Location: Various countries, mainly Africa.

Habitat: This species is rather half and half, they burrow fairly often but are also very active and spend a lot of time above ground and even climbing, so bit of everything for this millipede, and remember because of their monster size, its a good idea to have a very large enclosure, at least 2 times larger than the actual full grown millipede!

Food: As well as rotting wood and leaves, feed a wide variety of fruit and veg which is particularly liked by this species, they will also eat sweet potato and spirulina wafers.

Handling: Like all millipedes it isn't really adviseable that you handle your millipede unless necessary, this species like most others can and will release a chemical substance as deffence which if gets onto your hands can cause a reaction, always wash hands after handling!

This species i find to be easy to handle, these are often a starter millipede for first time keepers, due to their laid back attitude and huge size.

Description: Males and females look fairly alike though the females are often larger. At first glance this looks just like a big black millipede but, but look close enough and you'll see the segments are a lovely red colour. The legs are often a dark red/purple colour which matches the face and antennae
