Dog crates are one of the easiest ways to confine your dogs when you can’t supervise them. This prevents accidents in the house as well as disruptive, destructive and chewing behavior. They come in many sizes to suit every breed from chihuahuas to great danes.

Dog crates are also excellent for housebreaking your dog. In a wire dog crate you can see your puppy and he can see you. He is not isolated from any family activities, but he is also not misbehaving.

It is important to give your pup a nice, soft crate pad or bed inside the crate to make confinement more comfortable.

Given proper training and supervison in the early months, most dogs outgrow the need for confinement by about 1-1/2 years old. However, most really love their dog crate and use it voluntarily for the rest of their lives.
